By the exceptional Japanese stallion Lord Kanaloa (JPN), Tagaloa is out of the Heart’s Cry (JPN) mare Vasilissa (JPN). He was trained by Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young, and amassed almost $1.5 million in total prizemoney throughout his career. After running third in the Gr.3 Maribyrnong Plate as a pre-Christmas juvenile, he went on to win the Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes, defeating a crack field of juveniles, and was subsequently fourth in the Gr.1 Golden Slipper. He trained on as a three-year-old to win the Gr.3 CS Hayes Stakes and place in the Gr.1 Australian Guineas. He retired to stand at Yulong in 2021.
