Evening Irrigation Operator

Yulong is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Evening Irrigation Operator to oversee and support after hours irrigation work at our farm near Nagambie, Victoria. Joining our  Grounds and Maintenance Team, this is initially a seasonal role during the Spring, Summer and Autumn, with scope for a more permanent position if desired.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor the operation of large hard hose irrigators.
  • Implement irrigation schedules as directed including accurate recording.
  • Monitor irrigators throughout operation, identifying and reporting any issues or breakdowns.
  • Shut down systems safely and correctly at the end of each cycle.
  • Pull out the irrigators from paddocks (tractor work)
  • Perform basic maintenance of irrigation infrastructure (hoses, pumps, sprinklers, filters) and troubleshooting as required.
  • Ensure safe operation of tractors and equipment when moving or setting up irrigators.


To be successful, you must demonstrate:

  • An ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 3:00pm -12:00am with applicable breaks.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with tractors/ farm machinery and previous irrigation experience is desired but not essential.
