Three-time Gr.1 winner Provence (NZ) is by leading New Zealand sire Savabeel, out of the Flying Spur mare Sombreuil. She is a full sister to two winners, including Damask Rose, winner of the NZB Kiwi and Karaka Million 3YO Classic.
Trained by Stephen Marsh, Provence was a consistent and progressive racemare who improved with age. A seven-time winner, she recorded her first stakes win in the Gr.1 Thorndon Mile, followed by another Gr.1 success in the NZ Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes, defeating multiple Gr.1 winner Legarto. In her final season, she added a third Gr.1 victory in the Mufhasa Classic, along with another two placings at the highest level amongst elite company.
Provence was purchased for $1.8 million at the 2026 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.
