Yulong Investments are seeking experienced people to join our Yearling Crew for the upcoming Yearling Sales season.
Based in Nagambie, Victoria, you would play an important role in the success of our Yearling Preparation team. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing Stud that is making an impact in the racing and breeding industry not only in Australia, but Globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily care and management of Yearlings.
- Feeding, grooming, box and paddock maintenance.
- Handling and educating yearlings.
- Hand walking and moving yearlings on and off the walker.
- Assisting veterinarians and farriers.
- Administering treatments and bandages under the direction of our veterinary team.
- Assist with yearling preparation for sales and key events.
- Attendance at sales (if suitably experienced).
- Maintain accurate records and report any health or management concerns.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety and equal employment opportunity initiatives to contribute to a safe, healthy, equitable and ethical workplace.
- Work in accordance with management direction.
What we’re looking for:
- A genuine passion and love for the horse.
- Confidence in handling and working with young horses in a safe and professional manner.
- Sound understanding of horse health and welfare.
- Ability to identify and report health, injury or behaviour concerns.
- A good work ethic and a can-do attitude.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver’s license.
