Yulong Investments is a leading Thoroughbred Stud located in the beautiful Goulburn Valley region, just outside of Nagambie, Victoria. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Full-Time Accountant to join our team. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in supporting our finance team with day-to-day operations and high-quality financial administration.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare account reconciliations, including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany balances.
- Assist with preparation of management reports and financial analysis.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and process journal entries.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Supporting taxation requirements including GST, FBT, BAS/IAS and other statutory compliance requirements, as well as audit and tax information requests.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and assist with inventory reconciliations and stocktake processes.
- Review capital expenditure transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
- Assist with payroll accounting, including payroll reconciliations, leave provisions, superannuation, payroll tax, and other employee-related financial records.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team on financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects.
- Take ownership of assigned accounting areas, including reconciliations, reporting schedules, and investigation of accounting discrepancies.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree qualification in Accounting or Commerce
- Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong data entry and analytical skills with a methodical approach.
- Ability to grasp new concepts, tools, and systems efficiently.
- Effective communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in a similar accounting role.
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
