Yulong-raced Pocketing is a second-crop son of foundation sire Grunt (NZ), out of the High Chaparral mare Pickpocket. A winner on debut as an early three-year-old, Pocketing progressed to add the Gr.2 Tulloch Stakes later that season for trainers Richard & Will Freedman.
