Shangri La Express is by Alabama Express out of the Lonhro mare Sent From Above. Bred on-farm, he was sold through the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale to her trainers.
He was a first-up winner as a two-year-old, and in just his second start he took home the $1 million Inglis Golden Gift.
From there he placed second in the Gr.2 Todman Stakes.
