Tycoon Star is by resident Champion Sire Written Tycoon, out of the Group-placed Equiano (FR) mare Miss Iano.
The bay colt was purchased as a weanling at the Magic Millions National Sale before reoffered through Yulong’s yearling consignment at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale. Sold for $400,000 to Lindsay Park, Yulong retained a share in the ownership, with the colt duly repaying the farms faith in him when taking the Gr.3 Maribyrnong Plate on debut at Flemington. A tough performer, Tycoon Star’s first foray into Group 1 company resulted in a hard-knocking third to fellow Yulong-owned colt Devil Night in the 2025 Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
Tycoon Star kicked off his three-year-old season with a narrow second to Jimmy Recard in the Gr.3 Vain Stakes at Caulfield, sighting revenge a fortnight later in the Gr.3 McNeil Stakes with a classy front-running win.
