Within The Law is from the first crop of Yulong’s Gr.1 Phoenix Stakes winner Lucky Vega (IRE), out of the Dundeel (NZ) mare Contract Signed.
Born and raised at the Nagambie property, Within The Law was sold for $30,000 to Darby Racing through the Yulong draft at Inglis Classic sale. The October-foaled filly made an instant impact on debut, taking out the Listed Inglis Banner during the Melbourne Cup Carnival, a first Stakes winner for her sire. She followed this up two months later with a tough win in the Listed Inglis Nursery at Randwick, becoming the first horse to take out both contests.
She delivered a spectacular performance when triumphing in the Gr.2 Sweet Embrace Stakes, becoming the first progeny of Lucky Vega to claim a Group race victory!
