New season, new winner for Lucky Vega

Georgina Bourke-trained three-year-old gelding Vegameister (Lucky Vega {IRE}) become the seventh Southern Hemisphere winner for his second season sire when winning at Townsville on Saturday. Crowned Champion Victorian First-Season Sire on the same day, Lucky Vega also has six winners from his first Northern Hemisphere crop who are currently two-year-olds.

Yulong sold Vegameister to Kelly Schweida Racing at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, and he is the third foal out of Trawalla (Zoustar), a half-sister to Listed winners Holy Empire (Holy Roman Emperor {IRE}) and Albumin (Foxwedge).
