By Yulong’s resident Champion sire Written Tycoon, out of the Stakes-placed, Sebring mare, Mozzie Monster, the unbeaten Well Written began her career with a decisive three-length Maiden win, trained by Stephen Marsh. With an obvious step up in class on the cards, the three-year-old filly continued her spring campaign with an impressive seven-length victory in the Gr.2 Soliloquy Stakes, claiming the Gr.1 New Zealand Guineas three weeks later, before another Gr.2 success in the Aukland Guineas.
In the Autumn, Well Written improved again with a breathtaking performance in the Listed Karaka Millions, returning to Ellerslie to win the $4 million Listed Kiwi, ending her three-year-old campaign with a faultless 6/6 race record.
