Foxplay, by sire Foxwedge, is out of Listed-winning mare Butters (El Prado). Down her page you’ll find multiple Group 1 winner Eliza. She was purchased at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $160,000. Foxplay enjoyed a successful career on the track, winning five races and amassing $1,429,510 in overall earnings. She was a winner as a two-year-old, a Group 1 winner at three when she was successful in the ATC Queen of the Turf Stakes over 1600m, and won a further three Group 2 races that season. As a three-year-old, she also ran fourth in both the Group 1 MRC Thousand Guineas (1600m) and the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m). Foxplay continued to be a genuine weight-for-age and Group-performing mare during her four-year-old season. Although not winning at four, she produced arguably her best four-year-old effort when nearly defeating champion mare Winx in the Group 2 ATC Warwick Stakes (1400m), going down by 0.20L. She also ran fourth in the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m), again behind Winx and fourth in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m). Foxplay is in foal to the son of Champion sire Redoute’s Choice and Group 1 winner, Alabama Express.
