Straight Charge is a colt by Written By out of the I Am Invincible mare, Matryoshka. He was purchased by Yulong at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, he finished second on debut in the Gr.3 Breeders’ Plate at Randwick before winning his maiden on his second start. He followed this up with a dominant victory in the Gr.2 Silver Slipper at Rosehill, before finishing a narrow second in the Gr.2 Todman Stakes at Randwick.
